Kingdom of God Peace Mission

"‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’” -John 8:12

Welcome to Kingdom of God Peace Mission

Tanuku, West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh INDIA

Brother Divyakumar was an orphan raised and educated in the Don Bosco Mission, an excellent Catholic school in south India dedicated to making life better for the world's poorest and neediest children and families.

After graduating from school, Divya was born again as a Christian at age 18 when he heard God tell him to care for homeless children. Two years later he started by bringing food to hungry children living on the street. He prepared food packages for them which he took with him on his way to work as a laborer. Now he works as a leather sandal repair man.

This slowly grew until about 8 years ago when he was 24 and took an abandoned child home. One by one there were more. To feed them he collected donations of food and sometimes money usually less than a dollar. Today at age 32, he shelters 53 souls in addition to his wife and new baby.

He teaches them Bible stories and how Jesus loves them in their native language Telugu (TELL-ugu). They sing and worship together. The children attend public school which teaches beginner’s English. When they reach age 12, they can be baptized in a nearby pond.

Now they are living in an open shed which Divya rents on the edge of a village. His wife and a few older women cook the food. They never know day by day if there will be enough food, but God provides.

The Children’s Mission currently feeds and houses and these homeless people:

6 Boy's 3- 5 years

Outside not far away also there are some poor families living in tents who come by for help.

Then a little over a year ago, Divya met Samuel on the internet. Samuel grew up in a conservative Anabaptist church, from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and currently works in the tree cutting industry. He got the idea to raise funds to build a better shelter for the Mission and provide space for church meetings. We are searching for a team of 5 or 6 individuals with building experience who are interested in traveling to India for the building project.
